The inspiration for this drawing came from Bev Johnston. Thank you!
I originally drew my image on paper, but later imported it into procreate so that I could color it.

Hi! I haven’t posted in a while because I haven’t drawn anything I’ve been particularly happy with. But my sister gave me inspiration on what to draw, and then decided to video my progress of this drawing. Here is the whole video! It took about two days to finish.
For this drawing I decided to use a sketchbook and charcoal pencils rather than Procreate. It helped me learn so much about shading and what details must be noticed in drawing that I didn’t really understand as well before.
Today I tried practicing with a brush on procreate, the 6B pencil. I altered the brush a little bit, however, and made it especially sharp on the ends, which allowed me to achieve this look:
Today I tried something different and drew a cactus, which I have never done before. I also tried a different way of shading and highlighting, and specifically, for the shadows, I completely did them in black, and then turned down the opacity so it still showed up underneath. I did the same thing for the highlights, although using white, and it ended up being a lot of fun!
Even though this post is a little late, I still wanted to post it because I tried something entirely different. I have never done a background like this before, and never something about St. Patrick’s Day. This challenge was especially fun!
This girl took two hours to finish, as well as most of my drawings. This time I tried drawing far enough down that you can see a shirt. I also added it to my portfolio if you are interested in seeing the finished image. Let me know what you think!
